An effective residual interaction for a meson-meson system is computed in lattice QCD. We describe the theoretical framework and present its application to the I = 2 channel S-wave interaction of the π–π system. Scattering phase shifts are also computed and compared to experimental results.

We investigate a number of algorithms that calculate the quark propagators for the overlap-Dirac fermion operator. The QCD simulations were performed at β = 5.9 with a lattice volume of 16 3 32.

We discuss a general strategy to compute the coefficients of QCD chiral Lagrangian by using the lattice regularization of QCD with Wilson fermions. This procedure requires the introduction of an effective Lagrangian for lattice QCD as an intermediate step in the calculation.
